    Hi,
I see this is a very old thread, but I cannot let a mention
of Featherlite go uncommented upon.  I was scammed by
Isadore Hoffman who owns Featherlite Hair Systems.  She
charged me $4K for a wig and then took a whole year to
send it.  She only sent it when I threatened to file a charge
back with my credit card company, and when the wig arrived
it was not at all what I had ordered.  Such a huge
disappointment.  When I tried to contact her about it, she
refused to respond to me.  I am so appalled at her lack of
integrity and ethics.  I strongly encourage everyone to be
very aware of what you're getting into if you choose to
deal with Isadore Hoffman of Featherlite.  She is a very
    dishonest vendor.

  • I did a Google search of Featherlite wigs this
weekend after reading this post and another
one about Featherlite. There were more than
a few people who have been scammed by
Isadore and unfortunately she is based out of
Israel so chances of any recovery are slim to
nothing. A word to the wise for anybody
looking to purchase hair or any other costly
product, check out the company first, see
where it's based and if there have been
    complaints. Isadore Hoffman of Featherlite
wigs had quite a few people saying the same
thing as what happened to you. I feel so bad
    for you, I really do.

This is a newer review of a FeatherLite that I just recieved in the mail. I wish I had the same experience as the reviewers above, but sadly, I cannot say that. I really want to share my experience because maybe someone will be spared the heartache and money. I purchased it for $5, 000 to wear as a wig and not a Sheitel. I have Alopecia, and this has been a very difficult thing to deal with. I waited and worried I wasn't going to recieve it for a whole year. There were months I didn't even get a response from Isadore. She never even cared that my hair was rapidly falling out and that I needed the piece to help me get through hair loss and on with my life. I ended up having to purchase a $2,400 wig from Yaffa Wigs in Miami to get me by (highly recommended, by the way) until the FeatherLite arrived. When I finally got the wig, it was not the right color. It was also not wavy like I wanted. It was straight. The most upsetting part, though, is that it is so cheaply made. Notice she doesn't post any pictures of the underneath of her wigs. There is a reason for that; it's a simple wig cap with WEFTS (like hair extensions) sewn on it. Wefts are how costume wigs are made...not natural at all. They don't move or look like hair coming from the scalp. Another horrible feature is that there is not enough hair on the wig to cover up the fabric, thread, wefts, or the many little, pointy hairs that stick out everywhere through the hair because of the wefts. When I mention all of these issues she finally states that "they (whoever that refers to)" sent me the wrong wig. She never apologized and insinuated that I was making all of this up, even though she HAD to know she still had the one that was intended for me because it's still on her Facebook page with MY name on it! She never addressed the cap construction and lack of hair issues when I told her that the wig I got was not acceptable and won't send me a picture of the underside of the wig she supposedly made for me. She also won't even respond now because she said to send her the tracking number when I return it (I guess I was supposed to pay the shipping for her mistake), but I am inclined to believe that she won't even send me the other one since she never mailed wigs to several other clients (look on Alopecia World and Her Alopecia). I told her she could buy the wig I have back from me, and I would send it. I also told her that I would return it if she could prove to me with a picture that the wig she supposedly made for me is not balding with short, pointy hairs everywhere and wefting...no response. Isadore Hoffman is a rude, arrogant amateur wig maker that buys gorgeous hair so that she can hide the awful wig construction to take pretty pictures for Facebook so she can steal your money.
The thin front and minute amount of "scalp" material are good if she was actually a professional and learned how to properly construct the rest of it (and send you the correct wig), but it doesn't seem to phase her. Do yourself a favor and invest elsewhere, or you will end up with an unwearable wig to sit in your closet and an empty wallet...a year later, of course.
She really needs to stop taking advatage of vunerable women that are trying to deal with Alopecia as best they can (or even just people wanting to buy pretty hair or a Sheitel.

Hi there,
Ive actually just recently 2 months ago bought a wig from featherlight. It was my first wig, and I had no experience and maybe because I was nervous I found Isadore to be a bit pushy with what she felt like was right and it made me even more anxious. However, after wearing it I find to be slipping a bit and the size to be not right, and have tried to contact her for a month already, and no response. Was just hoping to how you were able

Hey,
I've also had issues with contact, have been waiting a bit over a year after paying for a wig and was getting excuses initially but now she is just not replying.  Not sure what to do - did you manage to get a response in the end?

featherlite review

Hi, I just wanted to share my experience. I bought my fall from Isadore 20 months ago. It was over 4 thousand. I was very nervous but she sent me a piece and the hair seemed really good in quality. I was nervous to send that kind of money without trying on the piece but she assured me she can fix any issue once i got the final product and that she's always available to answer any questions. I thought it was weird though when i tried to call her canada and Israel number with no avail. But i brushed that aside and continued to chat via email. Well, when i got the final product it was very different than what we talked about, the size of the fall is too small and doesn't stay on my head, also the clips pull out my existing hair really bad, and she cut very short layers that looked like an eight year old took a pair of scissors to. Its wasn't the long layers we had emailed back and forth about. Also the delivery time was way over a year!!!! She originally told me maybe 5-6 months. When the 6 month mark hit and still no wig i emailed her and didn't receive any response. I must have emailed 1 a week for 5 months and still nothing. Then at about 13 months into she emailed me and said she's shipping it. No "i'm sorry about not getting back to you" or anything. Well she must not have shipped it them because it took an additional 2 months to get to me. When i opened it and was really conceded about how it turned out i emailed her and still no response. This has been the worst experience for me. I'm very very sad that i spend 4 thousand on a wig that sits in my closet. But more than that i'm very sad because i was so excited and hopeful the entire 15 months and told myself with wait will be worth it, to just be disappointed at the end.

I also told her that I would return it if she could prove to me with a picture that the wig she supposedly made for me is not balding with short, pointy hairs everywhere and wefting, and we could both send out wigs...no response. She does not care one bit about taking your money and making a hideous wig, ignoring your calls and emails, giving no valid reason for taking a year to make it, contradicting herself, lying to Paypal and credit card companies, and she most certainly probably doesn't lose sleep over it.

On February 12th, 2015, I purchased a Sheitel from Isadore Hoffman of Featherlite Hair
Systems located at 58 Derech Hachoresh, Ramot B, Jerusalem Israel. I did not receive
the product for 2 months. Upon receiving, the quality of the product for the price I paid
was not acceptable. Isadore Hoffman of Featherlite agreed to a full refund upon
receiving the returned merchandise. She received the item back within 2 days. I waited
several weeks for a refund before Isadore Hoffman finally admitted she had no funds in
her business account. The payments had been split between a credit card and bank
account payment. I was forced to file a credit card chargeback to recover the $2000
charge on my credit card. Unfortunately, I am not awarded the same fraud protection
by my bank that I am by my cc company, so I will be taking legal action to reclaim the
remainder of the refund that is owed to me by Featherlite Hair Systems. Isadore Hoffman
of Featherlite Hair Systems is also a con-artist who commits credit card fraud. She
attempted to submit a false statement to my credit card company, saying the item
was never returned and that no refund was owed. The attempt to reverse the refund
and steal additional money did not work as I have proof in the form of fedex tracking
documents and emails from Isadore Hoffman stating that she would refund my money
after she received the returned merchandise. Please beware of purchasing anything
from Featherlite Hair Systems of Jerusalem, Israel.

Yep, also have problems with Featherlite. I bought a wig off Ebay last year from an ebay seller who wanted to get rid of her Featherlite and I really loved it. So I saved the whole year to have enough money to buy a short one during the short sale. I paid the same day through Paypal and it went through instantly. But until now she still hasn't shipped it. It's been two weeks now and it was a wig that was in stock. I paid over $1800.00 All my savings. She keeps giving me excuses why she hasn't shipped it. Every time the post office is closed. Yeah.. riiight. If I don't have received it within the next two weeks, I am going to file a claim through Paypal. And if that doesn't I am going to contact my CC company. My daughter is getting married in two weeks and I told her I need it before the 19th of February. I am so angry. I expect servixe for that kind of money.

I paid for a custom 7 months ago $5,000. When 4 months came I asked her when it would be shipped she said in a few weeks I followed up in a few weeks. Now she doesn't even answer my emails. I feel it's to late to make a cc complaint I'm stuck paying off 5,000 for an item I never received. My husband is so upset with me we fight about it al oat every day. Worst thing is I check on her facebook page and she posts only good customer reviews. I just don't know what to do as if losing my hair day by day wasn't hard enough.

I have been dealing with a nightmare with Isadore for over a year now. It took her a year to send me a wig, and it wasn't remotely what I ordered. I had already gotten fed up with being ignored for a year while I worried about whether or not she was actually going to send me something that when it came and was so wrong, I asked for a refund. She wouldn't refund it because it was a "custom order." Not hardly. I filed charges with the credit card company, and then she claimed I was trying to keep the wig and my money. I wasn't but didn't want her to end up with both, either, so I held onto it while the credit card company investigated it. I did send it back, though, because she threatened to call the local police (not sure they wouldn't have just laughed at her). I sent it from Mailboxes, Etc., which cost  $100, and addressed it to her from me and labeled it as a $12 costume wig," just like she told me to. When they tried to deliver she said she didn't recognize my name (I put my real name on it, but she claims I didn't ....not sure how that would benefit me to use a fake name), refused the package, and told the Fed Ex delivery person to never contact her again. Now, she is harassing me through emails, calling me stupid, dramatic, spastic, and all sorts of other things. Here is a recent email from her:
"Meg if you can learn to communicate with out freaking out all the time you may do a bit better in life.  Your email shows that you sent it to my icloud account which would be why I never got it.  Maybe don't randomly change the email address you're sending email to if you want to be heard.  It really just makes you come across as explosive and not very smart.  I realize now that you must have sent the wig using a different name as well.  Perhaps, because I know how smart you are, it didn't occur to you that we get packages all the time and that if you don't actually use your real name we would have no idea that a particular package is from you.  Use your brain Meg.  Anger makes people stupid."
They get worse, but I would avoid doing business with this person because there are many more stories just like this one. Apparently on HerAlopecia there is another girl with the same thing going on with her, and she even told the girl that we were both stupid. I think anyone that waits over a year for a wig that is completely wrong and then is treated this way, is valid in being a little upset and spastic over it. I mean, I am losing my hair so my life was already pretty difficult before all of this mess. She absolutely has no compassion for people like us, though.

Anyone else having problems with Featherlite wigs and Isadore?

I bought my featherlite (fall) from Isadore last year. When i first received the piece to inspect that hair quality i was very hopefull. However, it is very annoying to wear as the hair in the front keep falling directly in my face and it's so thick in the front that it gives away that "wiggy" look. I've asked her to fix it yet no response. This is perhaps my most difficult and frustrating experience as this wig cost me nearly 5,000 which was my entire savings and she cannot even answer my questions and has no interest in getting back to me. I don't know what to do at this point. It's also much much shorter than we had discussed which is another issue i am having. I basically cannot even wear it. I have tried her canada and Israel phone number but no answer. How can someone be this rude to their customers. I am very sad and disappointed, i mean going through hair loss is a very difficult thing to deal with in itself let alone having someone take your savings, promising you to be there if you have any issues and then doing the complete opposite. Anyone else have a similar experience with featherlite? I've read some reviews on other sites that had a similar story to mine.

Hey,
I've also had problems with communicating with her. I previously had a freedom wig and due to regrowth/costs/time taken on them I decided to try something else. I found her to be quite pushy initially but the product was good, so decided to order another.
I initially kept getting excuses on why it was being delayed, and now about a year later she has stopped responding to me!!
Don't want to be pushy, as she is overseas and I am not sure what to do really.
