This is a newer review of a FeatherLite that I just recieved in the mail. I wish I had the same experience as the reviewers above, but sadly, I cannot say that. I really want to share my experience because maybe someone will be spared the heartache and money. I purchased it for $5, 000 to wear as a wig and not a Sheitel. I have Alopecia, and this has been a very difficult thing to deal with. I waited and worried I wasn't going to recieve it for a whole year. There were months I didn't even get a response from Isadore. She never even cared that my hair was rapidly falling out and that I needed the piece to help me get through hair loss and on with my life. I ended up having to purchase a $2,400 wig from Yaffa Wigs in Miami to get me by (highly recommended, by the way) until the FeatherLite arrived. When I finally got the wig, it was not the right color. It was also not wavy like I wanted. It was straight. The most upsetting part, though, is that it is so cheaply made. Notice she doesn't post any pictures of the underneath of her wigs. There is a reason for that; it's a simple wig cap with WEFTS (like hair extensions) sewn on it. Wefts are how costume wigs are made...not natural at all. They don't move or look like hair coming from the scalp. Another horrible feature is that there is not enough hair on the wig to cover up the fabric, thread, wefts, or the many little, pointy hairs that stick out everywhere through the hair because of the wefts. When I mention all of these issues she finally states that "they (whoever that refers to)" sent me the wrong wig. She never apologized and insinuated that I was making all of this up, even though she HAD to know she still had the one that was intended for me because it's still on her Facebook page with MY name on it! She never addressed the cap construction and lack of hair issues when I told her that the wig I got was not acceptable and won't send me a picture of the underside of the wig she supposedly made for me. She also won't even respond now because she said to send her the tracking number when I return it (I guess I was supposed to pay the shipping for her mistake), but I am inclined to believe that she won't even send me the other one since she never mailed wigs to several other clients (look on Alopecia World and Her Alopecia). I told her she could buy the wig I have back from me, and I would send it. I also told her that I would return it if she could prove to me with a picture that the wig she supposedly made for me is not balding with short, pointy hairs everywhere and wefting...no response. Isadore Hoffman is a rude, arrogant amateur wig maker that buys gorgeous hair so that she can hide the awful wig construction to take pretty pictures for Facebook so she can steal your money.
The thin front and minute amount of "scalp" material are good if she was actually a professional and learned how to properly construct the rest of it (and send you the correct wig), but it doesn't seem to phase her. Do yourself a favor and invest elsewhere, or you will end up with an unwearable wig to sit in your closet and an empty wallet...a year later, of course.
She really needs to stop taking advatage of vunerable women that are trying to deal with Alopecia as best they can (or even just people wanting to buy pretty hair or a Sheitel.
